I'm a happy customer of these guys. They're being attacked on many fronts for human rights violations, unfair practices in business, and maybe even monopolistic tendencies.
So then I read this and I loved this bit where the author is expressing admiration for them before knifing them:
Amazon could soon conjure the full text of almost any volume onto a phone in less time than a yawn.
I have to admit to some mixed feelings about Amazon.com. But I'm a beginning author. I have no choice but to go where the readers are if I want my books to be read, right?
People even think ill of companies like Google that pledge to do no evil and — to me, at least — have mostly seemed to have been sticking by that pledge &mdash with a few glaring exceptions. Is Amazon really an evil power sucking force of destruction in our tech and business world?
