How American parenting is killing the American marriage

This is wrapped up with the hyperactive protection of children from any imagined threat. Children today have no opportunity to try things and fail at them even if they aren't dangerous in any way. We're preparing our civilization for an untested and gutless future.

I love my children and I want them to be happy and successful people. To do that they must occasionally take risks and suffer consequences. If their childhood never provided the circumstances for such, how can they possibly be prepared to handle them?
